Description

The Cemetery Administration in Karlstad Parish is seeking a crematorium caretaker for the crematorium at Rud Cemetery.

We are looking for a person who is calm, self-assured, and places great importance on performing work in an ethical and dignified manner.

Responsibilities

You will work with performing cremations, daily service, minor repairs, and maintenance of the facility.

The position also includes administrative tasks, including maintaining the grave book and the cremation and burial journal.

An important part of the job is to have contact with relatives, colleagues within the organization, funeral contractors, and other administrations.

You will serve at church services, ecclesiastical ceremonies, civil ceremonies, and ceremonies for other religions in the chapels at Rud or at Rud Cemetery. The work includes serving as a caretaker during funerals and preparing before and after funerals.

You will have contact with relatives regarding the allocation of new grave sites at Rud Cemetery as well as at Västra and Östra Cemeteries.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a three-year high school education, preferably with a focus on control and regulation technology. You should be accustomed to working with machines and able to perform simple service tasks.

You should have good knowledge of working in a modern IT environment.

Experience in funeral operations, crematorium, administration, and meetings with mourners is considered an advantage.

As a person, you have good social skills and an open attitude towards the people you meet. You are calm, self-assured, and work well with others. You are attentive, accommodating, and work systematically and carefully to follow routines. Flexibility and a solution-oriented approach in unforeseen events are of great importance. You should have good communication skills and be fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written. We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

You should have an understanding of the mission and activities of the Church of Sweden.
